Had 18" intex pool for three years but sold it to a neighbor at the end of last summer so I could upgrade to the 26 intex. I'm second guessing the idea because of the added ground prep expense and whether or not I need to buy a new sand filter pump. I have Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump: flow rate: 2,150 gal, has built-in 24-hour timer6-function control, Model# 28647EG. Wishful thoughts of using same sand pump which worked beautifully for 18. Is the reality a larger pump?Has anyone else upgraded with the same situation? I currently have current ground prep for the 18 which is sand that is packed tight as it has been used as base for last three years.
Possible upgrade from an 18 intex ultra frame to 26 intex ultra frame.

Welcome to TFP!!!That pump and sand filter should work ok for the larger pool ... certainly better than any of the cartridge variants.
