so since our pool was finished in late March I've been fairly diligent in sticking with the TFP method
I was out of town for about 10 days & left the pool at
FC 7.2 CC .2 PH 7.5 TA 110 CH 280 CYA 40 (June 28)
My friend watching house/pool & swimming didn't make over as often as I hoped so I came back to a pool with (left some powdered calcium hypochlorite since my CA could still rise & it's easy)
FC 0 CC .6 PH 8+ TA 90 CH 290 CYA 40 (July 7)
So I added some basic liquid chems over a couple days with these results
FC 4 CC .2 PH 7.2 TA 60 CH 290 CYA 40 (July 8)
FC 3 CC .2 PH 7.2 TA 60 CH 290 CYA 40 (July 9 day)
added 256 oz of 10% liquid bleach that night so it should have gone to FC 12 (I think)
and enough liquid stabilizer to raise CYA to 50 (pool has NO shade so thought I'd bump it)
then morning of July 10
FC 9 CC .4 PH 7.5 TA 70 CH 290 CYA 40-50
evening of July 10
FC 5.6 CC .4 PH 7.5 TA 70 CH 290 CYA 40-50
also I use a Taylor Speedstir now & I noticed that often after I complete the CC test as the sample sits their some pink will creep back into the water
then if I add a drop it's gone again , is this typical ? should I be calculating the extra .2 CC after the water sample sits for a few minutes ??
Soooooo , potential algae problem ? time for a SLAM ? OCLT test ??
Wife & kids leaving town for a week & I have the time .........
oh & somewhere in there I added a some baking soda to bump TA with theMA I keep adding to lower PH
