Concrete decking question

For those of you that have concrete decking/patios - do you have cracks? How long did it take before they appeared? Ours was finished earlier this year and we had cracks and flaking within two weeks. Superintendent said it was normal - more and more are showing up. We had a new patio poured at our previous house and never saw a crack even after two years. Any ideas?

No way there should be cracking and flaking after two weeks. The concrete was not finished or cured properly if that is happening. Part of the problem was they had too much water in the mix which (second part) they let evaporate out. The concrete should have been sealed as soon as the sheen went off of it.
