I'm looking at a start up on Wednesday after the mini pebble replaster has been acid washed. I've had my water source (city water) tested for metals and it has come back at zero. My question is it still advisable to use a sequestrant in the start up procedures here- https://npc.memberclicks.net/assets/documents/pdf/startup-card-current-rev3.09.pdf
These are recommendations that I was given to follow by the manufacturer, Stonescapes. On the First Day, Step 6 it says, "Although optional, it is highly recommended to pre-dilute and add a quality sequestering agent...". If I have no metals and it's optional, I would just prefer to not have the additional chemicals in the water. However, if it's found to be a benefit, even without metals detected, then I have no problem adding. Just not sure which way to go on this.
