Intex Ultra and air pillow question

Good day everyone! I am staring on closing my Intex Ultra pool this week and realized that I never bought the air pillows. If I am draining close to half of the water, do I still need the pillows? I think I do, but just wanted to verify it first. Thanks.

We drained our Pro Series to below the skimmer and still used the pillow. I bought mine on a whim, thought it was better safe than sorry.
