I have a in ground tiled pool with 19500 gallons of water, the CA is a constant 500 ppm, the pool is is sunshine 10 hrs a day, the water temp at 2 pm was 82 f and the ambient temp was 32 f. What would be the ideal chemical readings assuming the cya of 40. I was told that because of a hard water area that my pH should be 7.2. Can anyone shed any light keep getting information overload.

Are you using the poolcalculator.com? Look toward the bottom for the CSI and just make sure that is in range. You did not post a TA, so I can not do it. With the higher CH you will want the pH and TA a little lower, but 7.2 may not be necessary.
