Hi all! I'm in day 3 of the shocking process, starting with 0 TC and a CYA of 40. I have been successful at managing the TC level to be at shock level (16 is target number), but with all the algae I'm killing off, it is causing me to back wash my DE several times a day, which has lowered the water level to a point that requires me to add more fresh water.
I'm on a well system, and I don't know if there is a (relatively) easy way to calculate how this new water will impact the TC count, to ensure I'm not constantly fighting an uphill battle.
