My DE got wet and I think I like it

Hi All,

I accidently left my bag of DE out in the rain. Of course the bag started falling apart so I shoveled up the remaining DE and put it in a 5 gallon bucket. Now, since the DE is damp (sort of the consistancy of wet sand) it is soooo much easier to use. When I scoop it out, I no longer have the clouds/puffs of DE wafting in the air.

Of course I still premix it with water before I add it to the skimmer.

Other than the fact that my 1lb DE scoop probably holds far more damp DE than dry DE, are there any problems with this scenerio?

Gotta love those white clouds!
On another note, is there any particular reason to premix DE before SLOWLY adding a 1/2 cup at a time to the skimmer? I don't seem to have any issues. Its not like it dissolves and is plenty wet as soon as it hits the water!

I believe it more likely to completely cover all the filter grids if it is added more slowly.
