The thread linked to by jblizzle is mine. The photo in that thread is horrible (taken after dark......). I'll retake if you want to see. Bascailly it is a lean-to type structure tied to the brick on the house side and two posts on the other with curated metal roof. The 'walls' have carolina jasmine planted and by this time next year should be full.

Thanks for your replies...I'll look into making something with enough breathing room for maintenance...but also to allow air and heat to disperse...something I never thought of. Thanks!
