I live in South Carolina and the weather has bounced around a lot this year. It was quite warm recently, I didn't have much chlorine in the pool and the obvious result is an algae bloom. Here's my question. I don't really want to clear the pool and begin having to maintain it regularly as we won't be swimming until at least May but I'm not sure that's the best approach. I'm curious whether people think I should kill the algae now or wait until shortly before the swim season begins. To be blunt I don't want to spend money unnecessarily on chlorine nor to I feel like spending much time skimming, vacuuming and running the pump.
