I was finally able to run the pump (circulate) for an hour this morning and get my first testing done with my new Taylor K-2006 kit. Water is very, very green with a ton of algae :-( Below are some pics of my equipment:
Here are my test results:
FC 0
CC 0
PH 7.2
TA 50
CH 120
CYA -30
I have memorized pool school so I know what I need to do, but this is my first pool so I welcome any suggestions - these are my initial questions:
I did the CC test twice - is it possible that there is no CC in the pool?
The 30ppm is the lowest that the Taylor kit goes - do I just add 20ppm of CYA to make sure that I don;t put too much in?
Do I need to do anything to raise the TA?
Do I bother with the PH as its only .3ppm on the low side?
Can someone please explain to me what the booster pump does and how it works? Also, in my control panel there are two on/off switched above the two timers - I guess the second one is for the booster pump. Should I run the booster when I'm running the other pump? Will the booster increase water flow and help clear the pool faster?
Thanks for the help
