Hello everyone,
I purchased a home two years ago with what I believe to be a 300 gallon in-ground Jacuzzi. I'm currently experiencing a problem with the natural gas heater, a Teledyne Laars/ Jandy XE EG400, and I have a feeling I will have to replace it.
The label on the unit lists an input and output rating of 400,000 and 280,000 BTU's, respectively (see attached photo). While pricing new units, however, I notice only one BTU rating listed. Which one should I be looking to match? And, since the price on a given unit can differ as much as $1,000 depending on the BTU's, I'm wondering if I even need this many BTU's.
Another thing I was wondering is if it's better to go with an electric spark ignitor over a gas pilot?
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Mike
