Pool socks for Floating weir skimmer

Hello,
I've got a floating weir skimmer. It's the type were there is no flapper door on the skimmer entrance but there is a basket and the circular weir connects and floats in the basket.

The suction of the intake sucks it down if the pump is off it floats to the water surface in the skimmer.

It consist of 2 parts B-37 the basket and B-38 the floating weir. Has anyone used pool socks with this type of setup?

I have the same kind of floating weir skimmers and wondered the same thing. I ended up not buying the skimmer socks because I think they would interfere with the floating action of the weir.
