Aeration to Lower TA with a SWG

I need to reduce my TA level. The best return for me to use to build a fountain/shower to aerate the water is near my SWG.

If I aerate the water while the SWG is operating will the Cl gas dissipate into the air?

I believe I've heard that the gas is actually hydrogen.

However, I do wonder about aeration and chlorine. In the fish tank world, we would aerate tap water to drive off chlorine. Also carbon dioxide would go and pH would climb.

Aeration will lower the FC level, but the effect is so small, that you are unlikely to notice, even with lots of aeration. The difference compared to fish tanks is because swimming pools have much less surface area per gallon. The effects of aeration are a function of surface area, which is relatively small, so the effect is relatively slow, compared to what you would see in a fish tank.
