Aqua Chem DE Media + Filter Aid

I moved into our home two weeks ago. The old owner left som "Aqua Chem DE Media + Filter Aid". I backed washed my pool this past friday and used this DE to re-charge the system. I got curious about the "+ Filter Aid" claim on the box. I searched the web and every add says it is 100% DE. The question is what is "+ Filter Aid"? Is it a marketing thing? "My DE is better than your DE"

My guess is that they are calling attention to its use as a filter aid for sand filters. Though you think they'd spell it out a little better. It's not exactly lying....no more than a realtor listing a shack as "cozy" and a derelict, rundown house is a "fixer-upper" when it really should be a "tearer-downer."

If you put it in a DE filter it is DE filter media.
If you put it in a Sand filter it is a filter aid.
