SWCG still recommended?

Wondering if SWCG is still recommended for a new pool build we are planning. I had a pool built about four years ago at a previous house and we used a SWCG back then. Are they still recommended? Is it possible to have lower maintenance with just a standard rainbow style "puck" auto chlorinator? One PB suggested using sodium tetra borate which I believe is just borax and a STD auto chlorinator instead of a SWCG. I'm wondering if I should bother with it this time.

Still recommended.

You may have lower maintenance with a puck feeder for the first couple months, but after that...... whoo, boy! One of the most common reasons people search for information and end up here is because they have a clkoudy or green pool caused by too much CYA, which is caused by those convenient pucks.

If you used a SWG before and were happy with it, stick with it!
