losing prime when pump is off

I'm losing prime when the pump is off. it doesn't happen immediately, it takes a couple of hours. I also hear a noice when the pump is running, and I don't know if it's related. It sounds like dirt is running thru the multiport vavle. I don't have air in my pump strainer basket, so that seems to be ok.


any ideas?

You have a small leak in the system that allows air in to break the prime. It's not a huge issue but, if it really bothers you, you can try the leak detection tricks in pool school and report back.
