or rather, killing everthing in it!
Backstory: my pool motor went out back in Nov so I just decided to close the pool for the season. On Sunday we finally were able to install the new motor. Right now I have such a "lovely" green swamp with many frogs and turtles. I've been running the pump 24 hrs since Sunday, trying to clean up what I can, and cleaning the filter daily. I'm so happy to have the TF100 kit, so I'm hoping to have less problems this year than last. Here is my current test results
FC - 0
CC - 0
TC - 0
TA - 90
pH - 8.2
CYA - 0
CH - 300
I've got a stocking full of CYA in the skimmer (because I have nothing I can anchor it to in front of the return jets) and I will add acid to lower the pH. I'm not going to be able to start shocking until Friday night, even with the low CYA I can stay on top of things to start killing off the algae. I was thinking of adding some leftover tri-chlor pucks in a floater when I start shocking, just to help bring up the CYA. Any thoughts, suggestions, advice? I plan to post pics of the progress. I'm hoping everything will be clean in time for my husband's birthday (the 24th)
