Lost water in pool

I live in Charlotte NC where the weather is usually above freezing. Well the past few weeks were not and I did close my pool for the winter but I did not cover it. All the valves were close and the water level put below the skimmer. Well after 4 days of freezing weather my water drop about 2 ft can anyone tell me what to do. Thanks
