OK! Didn't add acid. The green is gone, very little residue on the bottom. By George! I think I've done it! It is not quite tropical blue yet, but maybe today......This forum is great! Guess I better go put my $$ in the pot to keep it alive!
All right, I do believe I have the algae under control. Now, time to close it up. The pool school gave me info for pools in freezing climates, but I live in a fairly temperate area in the pacific NW. We may get one freeze in the winter, mostly rain.
In the past, I have just put "winterizer" in the sand filter that my pool supply place sold me & shut it down.
I can't drain the lines or such because the sand filter sits below the pool about 4 feet.
Any suggestions?
