Question about closing ppol

I normally put my closing chemicals in my pool around this time of year, drain water down, remove pump and filter and then cover with my winter cover. I am planning on replacing my liner (it's getting bleached out pretty bad) in the spring. My question is this: Should I bother doing all of that, or should I just drain my water level down and remove the pump and filter and not even put a winter cover over the pool?
An help is appreciated.

If you are planning on a new liner, just cover it. No need for winterizing chemicals. If you get tons of leaves and debris, then the pump may clog up while emptying the pool. It is best to empty the pool with no junk it. Plus, there would be an unpleasant odor from the dead leaves, etc.
