Skimmer box leak

We bought a wooden pool and the build went reasonably well, never looks the same or goes as 'swimmingly' as the videos!!

So we filled the pool with water and then noticed the skimmer box had a leak, very annoying! The leak is between the joint of the water side box and the outer side box. I'd like to know if there is a product out there some where that will seal it, from the outside. I tried to take the box apart removing the outer box, and trying to secure the water side box in place, but it wouldn't budge.......

Depending on the exact location, there are some products (putty, epoxy) that can be used for some leaks. Can you post a pic of the problem area? It may help.
