Frequency for re-adding Borate to pool?

I have been searching but haven't found much on this topic. I added borate to my pool about 2 years ago, but have not added any since.

How long will borate last in a pool? How frequently do you add in new borate to your pools? Given the poor options for testing, it is hard to get a sense of how much borate is actually it the water and for how long.

Well like basically all of our recommendations here, what you need to do is based on test results. Borates are like cya and salt where they will reduce due to Splash out and water loss from backwashing.
