R-0001 plus R-0002 should be roughly equivalent to R-0870. They are both dpd reagent that creates the colored sample.

The difference is how the concentration of chlorine is determined. One uses a color match while the other titrates the chlorine with a reducing agent.

Using powder dpd for color matching probably wouldn't give good results due to needing exact dpd amounts for good color results.

I think that using the liquid reagents with a titration should be reasonably accurate.

In any case, I would use the correct reagents for the tests.
