I just wanted to stop and thank all of those you have replied to my new threads and being patient with questions. I have owned a pool for 15 years and recently found TFP. The wealth of knowledge is incredible. I finally have a source of information other than the pool store where I was spending hundreds of dollars. From the information that I have gleaned thus far, I can see and end to needlessly buying trichlor tabs, bottles of shock and endless bottles of algaecide. Who knew that I was on an endless loop of buying pucks and shock that was raising my CYA up and then getting algae only to be told I needed to buy more shock and algaecide. I will never enter a pool store again. With my new Taylor K2006 test kit and the knowledge provided on this forum, I have the confidence to master my own pool. Again, thank you all who have responded, I look forward to reading threads that continue to give me insight to maintaining a properly balanced pool with minimal chemicals.
