Need advice on new motor H.P. (zapped by lightening!)

    Hi,
Any advice on hp needed for 27' round 17500gal. filter is a hayward sand holding 200lbs. I replaced the pump before with a 1.5hp and I'm not sure if the pool originally came with a 1 or 1.5hp. Would a 1hp do the trick? (cheaper and uses less energy?)

    Thanks

    1 HP should be fine.
