.... was about a year ago. They charged me close to $400 to close my 20x40 in ground pool. The water bag "secured" tarp cover fell into the pool about a week later. They came back, pulled it out, and put some patio blocks on it. I didn't have the money for the $1500 they wanted to charge for a safety cover at the time.
Two weeks after that the cover fell in again in some moderate winds. They wouldn't answer my calls. This spring I removed 5 wheel barrows full of leaves from the pool, and got it crystal clear after about 2 weeks of water treatment. No one would take the job because the pool was such a mess, so I had to do it myself.
This summer I got another quote on a safety cover and they wanted something like $2500. Different company than closed my pool, but the same company that quoted me $1500 six months earlier.
I just finished this project, with the help of my wife, at a TOTAL cost, including all materials / tools of +/- $850. Couldn't be happier to understand how every piece of my pool works, and be totally self sufficient!!!
