Does anyone cover their pool equipment for winter? I have already purchased a cover for my Hayward heater pump, but wondering if people cover there pumps and filter?
Yes, after I clear all the lines I cover my entire equipment pad (filter, pump, and SWG box) with a very large, heavy piece of material (it is like a coated plastic so water does not absorb into the material). The SWG cell is disconnected and is stored in the basement for the winter.
Pump, and multiport valve brought inside. Filter drained and left open on bottom, I put a cover over where the multiport sits.
My heater specifically says not to cover it because it just makes it a nicer home for rodents. The heaters are designed to live outdoors in the weather there is no need to cover them.
