According to the intellichem reading - my ORP is at 705, and PH @7.6. Water balance is at an ideal level of -0.04. However when i test the water with the Taylor K-2006 kit, i get the following reading -

FC- 0
PH - 7.4~7.6
Alkaline - 30
Calcium - 450
CYA - 0

Is it possible that the ORP is at the right range, and yet we dont get any FC? According to the Intellichem system, everything is fine. but with the manual testing, it doesnt appear to be so. Our pool guy insisted that everything is well balanced, but I'm just not sure...

And this is why TFP never recommends using ORP to control pool sanitation.

Funny, huh? The ORP probe is telling you that your water has a fairly high redox potential @ 705mV. That should be indicative of water with a lot of oxidizer in it. And yet your Taylor kit is telling you that there is no sanitizer in the water. So who do you believe??

If you have a yellow OTO chlorine test kit, what does that show? Clear, yellow or bright orange? Alternatively, what happens when you add 2 or 3 heaping scoops of R-0870 powder to the water sample, anything??

If there's no chlorine in the pool, then your ORP probe is likely malfunctioning. You'll need to clean as per the Pentair instructions. If that doesn't work then it's time for a new probe.
