Why can I sometimes not see pics?

About a month and half ago, Photobucket changed their Terms of Service (without any advanced notice or user input) and started to enforcing a policy of no 3rd party hosting unless you have a very expensive, paid account (~$400/year). Many, many internet forum users would upload images to Photobucket and then use the image links provided to embed images in their forum posts. Photobucket has been losing money for years on their photo printing business and saw the 3rd party hosting (something they always did as a free service) as a potential cash-cow. But, rather than make their intentions to change their TOS public and give users time to adjust, they made a brief, midnight announcement on their company blog (that no one reads) on the Friday before the 4th of July weekend. It caused HUGE problems.

So, in short, it's not anything you're doing wrong, it's Photobucket's choice to shaft all the people that were using their service....if you need to post images, either become a forum supporter and get the storage space for images or try to find another image hosting service that allows for hot-links.

You'll find that most of the "image sharing" websites don't really want to "share"...

If you read their TOS's carefully, almost all them restrict hot-linking and reserve the right to terminate any account you have if they catch you doing it. Some, like Google Pictures, will let you hot link but they reduce image size/quality of your stored data to reduce usage.
