Pool Ladder/Handrail Anchor

So one of my wedges has broken that holds my handrail in place. In trying to remove the one wedge and working with the other. I think I broke the other one.

Regardless, I would like to replace the wedges. I'd prefer not to have to cut up the concrete right now and get into this. Anyone every changed the wedges? It seems like the bolts just spin and spin when trying to unscrew them out.

I saw on inyopools they have some replacement anchors.
Anchors, Wedges Bolts Parts - INYOPools.com

Would those work?

Here are some pics of my anchors.

Thanks in advance!

You'll probably need a helper.

Find something solid but skinny -- a piece of wood, a crowbar, a fireplace poker, something -- and have helper set it on the wedge and lean on it while you unscrew the bolt. If the bolt is stripped, you might be able to catch a decent thread and unscrew it. Then you lift the bolt out and fish out the wedge and replace both. Once you have the wedge out, you should be able to match it with one on that website.

More work is to try to lift the wedge up until it stops, then cut the bolt flush with the deck and hope that when the wedge drops back down you can get it all out.

Yea, I've tried pulling up on it with a strong set of "thick" needle nose plyers. Didn't help. I was gonna try it with a crowbar I have and see if it will help. Otherwise I might just use my reciprocating saw to do exactly what you said.

Preciate the help Richard!
