Filter bump handle seems to have broken. No resistance up or down. That seems like the end of this. Thanks for the help. I'll be back I hope.

I messed up. cya is now 60. Does this mean I need to remove half my water to get it to normal levels?
How? Did you add some more, or did you retest and get 60 this time?
If CYA is 60, shock level is 24 FC. You'll just have to target that if the 60 is correct.
I added a sock with some. The sun has been out this weekend and my first test showed less than 30... I bumped up my FC. I think I finally have the bottom clean of debris. Hopefully I can see some results today... Calculator says 30% of the water to get to 30 CYA. Is 60 a practical level for the season?
Forget a bunch of water replacement and SLAM it at the right level. You'll probably start seeing some faster progress.
Question about the filter. How long should it take before I stop seeing stuff in the pool? Shouldn't it be trapping all of the little pieces? Any other tips to see if the perflex is working properly?
It probably just means you're finally killing the green stuff. It seems like green algae is superfine but the dead stuff clumps into pieces you can see.
I like that a lot better.
