Good day!

I am planning to replace my current single speed pump to 2 speed.

Pump is on for 8 hours per day, and meter shows around 25 kwh daily. since I haven't moved in yet, so assume 80%+ are consumed by pump alone. rate: 0.10-0.11$/kwh.

Current pump: 2 hp, 230v, 10.5 amp, inlet horizontal, outlet vertical.

After reading the articles, I suppose the 2 speed pump suits better.

Considering myself as weak DIYer, may I have your advice on a few queries?
1. what is the right power for the pool? 1 hp, 1.5 hp?
2. how difficult is the plumbing to replace the pump?
3. current voltage is 230, so electric wiring should be easy part, am I right?

Pool info: 14000 gallon pool with SWG, I don't think there is heater involved.

Can you get a shot of the wet end of the pump or any name information on the pump it will help in answering your questions. The name tag on the motor is just for the motor it doesn't tell us what pump you have. Also is your pool in-ground or above ground?

You can do just a motor change to get a 2-speed pump.
Don't undersize the motor for the pump impeller you have.

Thanks for the advice. I can see the fame of motor is X56J, but I couldn't find information about my pump.

Can I just use the frame to decide whether motor matches the wet end?

Not sure whether it is possible to tell from the photo.
