Solar power to circulate water on slide

Been toying with this idea for a a few years. Pretty much given up due to cost. Instead of solar powering a DC pump to run water down slide, do you think a 12v deep cycle battery, wired to pump and use a solar panel to charge the battery. An on\off switch to only circulate water when in use....

Do you think this world work?

any advice would be appreciated...

Why not use your pool pump and divert some of the return flow to the slide? A DC battery system is a lot of extra work and expenses when you already have a pump ready to go.
