"Pondering the deep mysteries.." (A quote from "The Deeper End" board description) - Yes, indeed.
So I added 50 ppm borates and salt because I read people said it’s good. What’s the use of being a member at TFP if you don’t listen? My salt level is now 3800 because apparently my pre-addition test was wrong. My goal was 2000 – 3000.
At the beginning I didn’t feel any difference. My water has always been “sweetâ€, so I wasn’t impressed. The only thing was that the water tasted a bit salty. I know I have to live with it until the next seasonal dilution. Yesterday I was swimming in the water for about half an hour. I was physically fatigue because I’ve been on some kind of medication for treating something that will soon go way. While I was spending that much time in the water, I felt like it had some special qualities. I couldn’t just describe it, but I had never had it before when all I had was the “regular†water balance. The water felt so “natural†and soothing. My swim movements were effortless. (Despite my avatar I am a far cry from being a Michael Phelps.)
After the swim I may have rested a bit and ate something, and after that I noticed an unusual boost of energy. This was definitely not just “being refreshed†from the pool.
I had a walk in the morning before the swim, and again later in the evening after the swim, and the difference in my energy level was incredible.
Whoever saw the movie “Cocoon†can relate to this description, although , obviously, my experience wasn’t so unworldly. I wonder if anyone may have experienced anything similar, and I want to thank all the numerous members who have reported about the benefits of having salt and borates.
