I backwashed last week and post-backwash filter pressure was 14.5 (which is right on target based on 10 years of experience with this pool, my filter runs at 14.5 psi with a new, post-backwash DE charge). Pool ran at 14.5 for a day or two, then it started dropping. Went to 12.5, then a couple more days later to 11 then to 10 and now it is at 6.5 psi.
Water is clear (as it was before the backwash). Skimmer and pump basket are clean. Water flow has definitely decreased, but still enough (for now) to pop up the bottom returns and to keep the AutoPilot running. Any ideas what could cause the pressure/flow drop after a backwash?
