I am in the beginning phases of planning a remodel. THis will probably go one of two ways.

Method 1:

Redo Tile, cleanup cool-deck and live with the plaster and cool deck.

Method 2:

Redo tile, tear out cool deck and coping and replace with travertine.

Here are a couple pics of the pool. It is about 30x18 and plaster is in overall good shape. There is some spotting/mottling but it doesnt look bad to me - actually I think the pictures accentuate the spotting.

My main complaint is the outdated tile.

I have a couple questions.

1. How difficult would it be to retile this myself? I am pretty handy and have most tools including a wet tile saw. Is there anything specialized about pool tile vs bathroom and kitchen work?
2. What is the procedure or is there a thread (I searched and could not find) detailing steps to pool tile replacement?
3. Is there a good website online where I can source the tile online?
