Pool light niche gasket, caulking, recommendations?

Hi,

I'm replacing my pool lights. I'm not 100% sure about the 1 retaining screw holding the light to the niche. Has anyone used marine caulking, or some sort of gasket, to give the niche some water protection? The fixture itself will be waterproof, but was wondering if anyone tried to make their niche a little less prone to ingress.

The niche is designed to be flooded and have water circulate in it to cool the light.
