The flow red light is on and the flow cuts out after about 5 minutes ...have an above ground salt clorinator ...can anyone pmease help and advise ...basket is clean and everything works when the filter is taken out ? The filter is clean ?

Yep, really need to know the equipment brands to help.
You mention that all is well when the filter cartridge is removed. That suggests that the filter cartridge is caked up with something that isn't washing out when you spray it off.
You could buy a replacement cartridge. Or you could try dipping the cartridge in diluted hydrochloric acid. Buy some 32% hydrochloric acid from Bunnings and dilute it 4:1 (1 litre acid, 4 litres water). If the cartridge bubbles when you immerse it, then the cartridge is scaled and the hydrochloric acid bath might clean it up enough to keep using it.
