Remington sun shock copper anyone for algae??

I'm battling managing this pool remotely at times and alot of users swear by this product using copper to battle Alcestis and in the end less pump on time and chemicals.
Anyone have experience with it and care to comment?

No, thanks Seriously- keep it simple: metals in the water are very hard to get rid of. I'd stick to liquid chlorine to save headache.

+1 to avoiding putting copper in your pool. Copper accumulates over time. Lots of people here are spending lots of time and money trying to remove copper from their pool and get rid of the stained pool surface, stained water, green hair, fingernails and even dogs.

max2k says it right......put copper in your pool and you are at risk of permanent staining on the pool surface. You still need chlorine anyway, so why not use the correct amount and manage your pool(s) by the way we teach.

Ok thanks I suspected as such. Easier even remotely just to ensure chlorine is kept up properly.
