Stabilizer Causing Dark Stain on Vinyl

We are newbie pool owners who made the mistake of adding pool stabilizer directly to the pool, instead of to the skimmer. We brushed it in an attempt to help it dissolve, but unfortunately it just moved around and sat on the bottom of the pool. A few days later, we noticed a dark stain on the pool floor and jumped to the conclusion that it was algae. We then added algaecide (that contained copper) so now the stain is quite dark. We finally realize that the reaction of the stabilizer and the copper is likely causing the discoloration. The question is...what do we do now?

Our pool is a Kayak 16 x 24 above ground pool with a vinyl liner. The liner was new last year.

Hello and welcome to TFP! We'll be glad to try and help. Unfortunately, it appears some previous decisions to treat a symptom(s) were a bit premature, so we need to work carefully now. The #1 thing we must have right now is accurate test results from either a TF-100 or Taylor K-2006. I recommend the TF-100 (link below) because it's a better value for your $$ and includes Taylor reagents as well. Accurate testing is #1 for us to help you determine whether you have an algae issue, metals issue, or both. At this point, I would also recommend the following:
1 - Order a TF-100 and provide test results
2 - Use only regular liquid bleach as your sanitizer; about 1/2 gallon each evening until your kit arrives.
3 - Update your signature with all of your pool info to help us make decisions based on your equipment and pool size.
4 - Read the SLAM page (link below) as I suspect you will need to perform a SLAM to clear your water first, regardless of metal content or not.

Is it purple?

No, it's a dark brown with maybe a tinge of yellow. It's in a circle where the stabilizer settled on the vinyl floor. We held a chlorine tablet on the stain and there was no change. We then put some ph down in a sock and held that on the stain...it lightened the stain. Here are our numbers:

TC: 0.1
FC: 0.1
PH: 7.3
Tot Alk: 130
Adj Total Alk: 86
Total Hardness: 109
Copper: 2.2
Iron: 0.1
TDS: 800

We have a cartidge filter with a frog system for chlorine. We also have a pool heater (not turned on) that the water is running through.

Our pool store is recommending we add Pool Magnet Plus (Bioguard) and Sparkle Up for the stain.

Most likely it's a combination of copper and cyanuric acid. It might not come out. Try some ascorbic acid on a test spot (might help, might not, might make it worse).
