I wouldn't be concerned about the DE.

Okay. Picking up a bag tonight.. I'll do a thorough cleaning and DE charging over the weekend and see how it fairs out..

You only need a 1-2 PSI rise with the DE to improve the filtering.

Well so far so good... the DE hasn't shot back into the pool (I made sure to do it while the panels were running as well so the flow was a little slower through the filter). Didn't get any PSI increase after almost 4 cups of DE so I just left it and hope it will start catching those minute particles of stuff getting through.
