New pool build here. I was going to put some trichlor tabs in my chlorinator.

I have followed the instruction on the chlorinator but the water level never drops in the chlorinator. My pool equiptment is below the water level of my pool so I wonder if the back pressure from the water column in the pipes prevent the water level from dropping? This seems to be correct because if I turn the knob up from zero on the chlorinator while the pump is off water starts coming out of the top of the chlorinator.

Is is still safe to drop tabs in there if the water level never drops?

Thanks in advance.

There really isn't any reason to put tabs in the chlorinator. Just use bleach. That way you aren't adding stuff that you are going to have to drain to remove.

TPFC is all about using simple stuff you get from the grocery store.

I suggest you take a look at this page and let us know when you are ready to start enjoying pool care the TFPC way.
