We are going on vacation for 4 weeks this summer. Is it better to drain pool but place cover on bottom of pool, or is it ok to keep pool running but covered? I worry that if we keep it running, the pool may develop problems and no one will be around to fix it. Can pebble TEC pool even be left empty?

I would not drain pool for that long. Prob void warranty. I seem to remember a line in the warranty that states the owner will keep pool full and balanced. I would just find a pool guy to manage for a month.

Yeah, I wouldn't drain the pool. If a neighbor is not available, bring in a pool guy, as azjoshers suggests
