Hose adapter for Rule pool cover pump?

Has anyone been able to find a fitting that will work for the Rule 1800 pump cover at Lowes or Menards?

I need this.... Amazon.com : Rule Replacement Garden Hose Adapter : Boating Bilge Pumps : Patio, Lawn Garden

However, $10 seems like a ripoff and I need one quick.

3/4" PVC is too small, 1" is too big.

The fitting just pushes on. You could probably use a short piece of vinyl tubing or hose to slip over the pump connection part. Warming the tubing with warm water or a hair dryer can help get a good fit. From there, you could use a garden hose mender or slip the garden hose inside the tubing. There's not much pressure so no need for clamps.

Thanks. I ended up finding a 3/4" to threaded adapter that I was able to dremel out the ID just a bit to get it to fit on.
