Hi, I am trying to shock my pool with the water level about 1 foot under the returns on the deep end of the pool. Is that OK? I can turn on my water flow to intake from the main drain only and return back through the inground cleaners in the deep end. Is that OK? I want to shock the water before I refill and close for the winter.
My whole story is here:

btw, sorry for the multiple posts. I took the day off from work to deal with this so really anxious to get it done today. worried about leaving the pool this empty. Thanks

If it was me, I would close it with the water the way it is and deal with it early in the spring when the water temp hits 60. if you want to clear it, then I would be worried about the splash when pouring the chlorine. This is what I would do, but do at your own risk. Pour the chlorine without splashing and us a broom to help circulate it throughout, of course all of this with the pump running.
