Locating Backwash Line

Hi all,

First time posting. Pool is in great shape, due to previous homeowner having a pool cleaning company. I have officially taken over and need help locating which pipe is my backwash line and what to open to let the dirty water espace during the process.

All of my details are in the sig.

Hi, welcome to TFP! If the label on the filter's multiport valve is legible, the segment labeled "waste" is where the water is released. There should be a pipe stub where you can attach a hose or pvc pipe underneath the section labeled "waste". If you can post a picture we should be able to identify the line for you if it is hard plumbed.

The operative word is "should". The previous owner of my house piped the backwash line underground. I have no idea where the water goes to.

A photo or two of your set up would help us identify the parts for you.
