We are in the process of filling our 24' AGP and have just reached the level where we can install the skimmer. It has taken about 10 days, two of which we were under a boil order, to get this much water and it is quite green. I don't think we want to stand in there to do the installation without chlorinating it somewhat. How much should we add?

Without any CYA in it you should add about 2ppm FC which should be about 2 qts of 8.25% bleach. You can probably add that much every couple of hours as long as the sun is on it.
Be sue to stir it well with a brush or something.

If you haven't already, use about 2½ to 3 qts of 5.25%.

You can use poolmath to figure how much to use. I used less volume than the pool would be full because you said it was lower than the skimmer.
