Are you familiar with the PoolMath Calculator? Here is a link http://www.troublefreepool.com/calc.html Plug in all your relevant numbers in the now column and then what you want to target and it does the work for you! You need to indicate what strength your bleach is e.g. 6%, 8.25% etc. I am not sure about your question about the test differences...

The FAS-DPD test is the one where you add the powder (0870) to turn the water pink and then count how many drops (0871) to clear.

For your 44K pool, if you were to use regular bleach that is 8.25% strength, then the calculator says you will need to add 5 1/2 gallons to go from FC 20 to FC 31.
