    Wall whale

Here's a page that lists the benefits: pages/supporters/ If you need justification, take a sample of your water down to the pool store, let them test it for you and buy everything they recommend. Then test your own water with a good kit, post the results here, and we'll tell you how much...

What is the BEST lounger /raft?

You know I never did try it. My mom got one and it turned out to be junk. You sank in the water so far that the cup holders went under and it didn't recline well. However, the plain foam float that lays flat, but the same folks, is fantastic.

    Wall whale

I had to post my own thumbs up for the Wall Whale. After reading this thread and a couple others like it, I ordered one for myself from PoolGeek.com (using my TFP discount of course!) It works great and makes brushing the walls a much easier task. Even my 9 year sold can do it with ease...

Where do you buy Equipment pads ?

86" - that's a nice size. What are you getting? I was fortunate. We still have a lot of construction going on in my area. I was able to grab a crew who was working on a neighbors driveway; otherwise, they would not have come out for such a small job.

Where do you buy Equipment pads ?

I'm guessing, but you might try a stone yard. How big is the grill? If you have to put it on your existing deck while you wait to pour concrete, just make sure you get a nice large spill pad. I had mine poured and then painted it to match the deck. I went pretty large because I plan on...

    jandy vs pentair valves

I've noticed that a lot of builders who use Pentair as their primary equipement brand for pumps, filters, and cleaners often use Jandy valves.

    Blaster 1000, 2000, and 3000

I confess, I just like gadgets and this looks like a cool one. It takes me about 40 minutes, start to finish to clean the filters.

    Powermat.com

Thanks John. This sort of info is why I love the internet. It's also why retailers should be more concerned with how they treat customers. Instead of just telling a few friends and neighbors about a positive or negative experience, we now have the ability to tell thousands. How many sales...

    Blaster 1000, 2000, and 3000

That looks really cool. I've cleaned my filters which were no browner than those and it took quite a while of direct washing with a pressure tip nozzle to get them that white. I don't doubt that it can be done, but that video makes it look really quick. I'm guessing it would take 5 minutes...

    Automatic Chlorinators Suggestions

We have large plastic bleach drums at work that have been in service for 10 years or more. I'm not sure of the concentration, but it is used in the cooling towers and it's a safe bet it is highly concentrated.

    SWCG vs. Liquidator

A properly maintained pool using a Liquidator would not need any more CYA or "Shockit" than a swcg pool. The only differences would be the cost of buying the Liquidator, and the bleach, vs the cost of the swcg, electricity and increased acid.

    SWCG vs. Liquidator

Ric, your con about the Liquidator isn't really a con as that necessity is shared by all automatic systems, including swcg's. Good analysis.

    SWCG vs. Liquidator

For what it's worth, we have a SWCG on our pool. My parents are currently building a pool and after discussion their options, they just ordered a Liquidator. They will also have an inline puck feeder as back-up. I like my swcg, but the various quirks can be bothersome. We had to have one...

    Poolandspawarehouse.com - legit? Please read...

I did a little searching and found them under another name at the same address: Centereach, NY 11720 Acme Pool & Spa 2384 Middle Country Road (631) 471-5800 Seems kind of shady that they don't have a contact number listed on their website. I'm thinking of coming up with some sort of vetting...

    Polaris 360

I was kicking myself. I bought a new bag for our Polaris 280 after the original one started to wear out and it never ocurred to be to get the leaf bag. doh! It does a great job of getting all the leaves, but sure does fill up quick. Next time it will be the larger bag!

For you pool owners with dogs that shed...

I finally used one of these when my mom brought it over for her dog. We have a pug (short hair), but it still did a great job. It felt almost like it was pulling the hair as I went, but she didn't seem to mind and it did do a good job. I don't think it removed anymore hair than the rubber...

What is the BEST lounger /raft?

Look what I found with an Amazon serach, http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?ur ... II&x=0&y=0 That baja II from Texas Recreation looks like a good compromise on features and price. I think I'm going to give it a try.

What is the BEST lounger /raft?

My wife is of the opinion that all pool floats are about the same and regardless how how much you spend, will last about one season and have to be replaced. It's tough to argue since that has been our experience so far. We've already gone through a couple rafts of varying price. I'm looking...

For you pool owners with dogs that shed...

Now, there's an equipment review I never thought I'd see. I wonder how it would work on short haired dogs. We have a pug, and despite the old rumor that short haired dogs don't shed, she sure does! It's just not the very visible long hair you have with other breeds. I may have to...

    weighing down pool steps

What about using the plastic coated weights- like the old cheaper weider ones they sell/sold at Sears. I think they just have concrete inside, so rust shouldn't be an issue. They would be a little bulkier though. I don't know if they still sell them in the stores, but I'll be you could find...
